check out this enormous cedar of lebanon tree we recently dismantled for a new customer in evercreech.
This incredible tree had been pruned significantly over the years to manage its stability by other tree surgeons before us. The extensive efforts had left us with no further options to reduce the sail area and end weight of all of the branches and stabilise it. If you look at the following images you’ll get a feel for the size of the tree and complexity of the branch structure from these Google maps screen shots.
The following images show the limb failure that created the necessity to get the tree assessed by a surveyor. Although very significant in terms of damage, everyone felt lucky no-one was hurt when the massive limb collapsed and destroyed the garage, fence, a car and speared through the dining room of the neighbour. The surveyor and tree officer agreed the tree needed to be taken down.
Another element of management was historic and a more recent non invasive bracing system to provide additional support for the limbs. Regrettably, even with this approach the aforementioned limb still failed and pulled the bracing straight out of the tree.

With the help of South West Crane Hire we were able to life the Avant into the garden and all the timber up and over the wall…This wasn’t scary AT ALL!

The beautiful timber we managed to extract will be processed into planks and lumber in order to produce furniture.
The team and myself worked incredibly hard on this job for a whole week making sure it ran smoothly and we are very proud with the end result.
